Sunday School Program

Sunday morning at Cochrane Street is a busy time for the young members of our congregation. Under the direction of superintendent Mary Hillis, Sunday School starts with a shorter version of regular church service - with opening hymn, welcome, collection and prayer. Children then go to activities for Junior and Senior classes. There is also a Nursery provided for young children.

Teachers and children are always busy working on projects to help children learn how to walk in Christ's footsteps. Past projects include writing a skit on Queen Esther for the Halloween party, making Christmas cards to raise money for World Vision programs and a current project to support the United Church Mission and Services Fund. There's always something new happening at Cochrane Street!

Christmas Party 2006

Our Christmas party this year was a joint effort of Sunday School and the Men and Women's groups of our church. There were relay races, "decorate the Christmas Tree" (with parents being the trees!), games and treats. There was even a visit from St. Nicholas. All enjoyed a wonderful evening together.

Halloween Party 2006

Our Halloween party was a "howling" success! The Senior class helped plan the entire evening with games, food and entertainment. They wrote and directed a skit, based on the life of Queen Esther showing how she hid her identity in order to help save her people. Bobbing for apples was the highlight of the evening!
